Much like Thomas Jefferson
envisioned his crowning achievement, the University
of Virginia, as an academic village where shared
learning would infuse daily life, the founders of
Sage Ridge looked to the roots of a classical
education as the springboard to create a community
of learners unlike any other in Nevada.
At Sage Ridge, the Jeffersonian
ideal of a community pursuing a perennial
renaissance of mind, body, and soul has taken root
and flourished. Whether it is in the
classroom, on the playing field, a theatrical/music
performance,
exploring an outdoor education adventure, or
participating on an international trip, Sage
Ridge encourages and nourishes both the intellect
and the human spirit while recognizing the need for
activities that address the physical growth of each
child.
At the same time, the School
recognizes that the "world is flatter" than it was
only a short time ago and the shrinking global
village requires new and dynamic approaches to
education. As a laptop school SRS embraces
both the technology and the connectivity required of
future citizen-leaders.
