Advisory
The advisor is a faculty member who is responsible for the academic advising and personal support for seven to eighteen students. In the middle school, the advisor provides social, moral, and personal coaching to help guide our students to become confident, compassionate community members.
Advising is a specialized skill and responsibility. An effective personal guidance program is one of the ways we provide individual attention and one-to-one support for students. As advisor, a teacher has a significant opportunity to create and nurture the “dynamic relationship between students and teachers.”
Advisors and advisees meet three times per week in the morning. These advisory meeting are responsive to the needs of the students. The grade level team leaders with the middle school head determine the scope and activities for upcoming advisory meetings with input from students and advisors.
