Crossbow Loft
On Wednesday, September 4th, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, please join the college counseling director in the Crossbow Loft for the annual college night program for seniors and parents. Our agenda will include demonstrations of the Common Application, College Kickstart, and Naviance Student as well as a review of the 2024-25 application timeline, EA/ED/RD deadlines, and next steps. The event includes all seniors and their parents/guardians and siblings. Don’t miss this opportunity to cover key milestones in the admissions process and prepare for a successful launch of your student to college!

- Getting In: How and Why - Higher education, SRS, and your goals for college
- Housekeeping/Administrative Matters - College planning timeline and checklist (review) - Transcript requests/college list, Naviance, FERPA - The Common Application & other application platforms (demos)
- Application Strategies, College Admissions, and Costs - Balancing your college list and finding “fit” (College Kickstart) - Early Decision/Early Action Admission Plans - Financial Aid & Scholarships (FAFSA and merit aid)
- Your College Essays & Personal Statements - Writing, reviewing and editing drafts - Supplemental essays (why College X, etc.?) - SEL: the examined life/know thyself
- Standardized Tests, Prep and Dates - What does “test optional” really mean? - ACT/SAT: to submit or not to submit your scores - AP exam scores: subject mastery and college credit
