Screenagers: Elementary School Age Edition is coming to Sage Ridge School and our local community in January. The documentary offers parents, educators, and students a critical opportunity to understand the challenges of technology in young children's lives. This powerful film explores the growing concerns about children's increasing reliance on digital devices and provides meaningful insights into managing screen time. The documentary addresses crucial issues facing elementary school-aged children, including: Smartphone and smartwatch use in school Video gaming habits Social media pressures Age-appropriate technology exposure Research-backed screen time recommendations Dr. Delaney Ruston, a physician and filmmaker, takes a deeply personal approach to examining how technology impacts children's development. Through interviews with experts, psychologists, and brain scientists, the film examines the complex ways digital technology affects young minds and their development and provides practical solutions for families. The screening will conclude with a discussion following the movie for viewers to share insights and responses to the film.
