1000 Pieces of Good News
Giuliana, Grade 3

March 2020….

Like most people, I was keeping busy with my normal routine…school, friends, ski team on weekends. I had just qualified for a big ski race and was so excited to compete.  And then everything changed. The world shut down and everyone stayed home to keep us safe. We knew we had to do this but it has been hard and sometimes scary. One night, my parents were asking my sister and I how we were doing with all of this change. We said that we missed our friends, seeing our grandparents, going to school, and I really missed ski team.

To help us get through this we started talking about the good things that had happened to us since the shelter in place order had started. I said that I was able to spend a lot more time with my sister. It made us feel better when we said the good things instead of just focusing on the bad. We decided that we wanted to collect 1000 pieces of good news from our friends and family all around the world.

So far we have collected almost 300 pieces of good news, but we know that there is so much more good news out there. We hope that you and your family will add your good news to our list and that it will help you think about the good changes in your life even though life has been hard. When we reach 1000, we want to share this with the world so that other people who are having a hard time might feel better about all that has happened.
