Ana Treadway '27 piece "Beautiful Inside Out" will be at the Nevada Museum of Art from January 31-Feb. 28.

Congratulations to 14 Sage Ridge Upper School students on winning 21 Scholastic Art Awards, including one Visionary Award, two Gold Keys, three Silver Keys, and 15 Honorable Mentions! The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, hosted by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, is “the nation’s longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens.”

Gold Key Award Winners Ana Treadway ‘27 and Owen Heaphy ‘27 will have their work displayed publicly from January 31-February 28, 2024. Treadway’s “Beautiful Inside Out,” which also received an American Visions nomination, will be on view at the Nevada Museum of Art and Heaphy’s “Golden” will be on view at the University of Nevada, Reno’s Sheppard Contemporary Gallery.

The American Visions Award is a prestigious art award for “originality, skill, and the emergence of a personal voice or vision.” Treadway’s “Beautiful Inside Out” is one of only five works selected in the region for nomination. National judges review nominations, with one nominee per region receiving a National American Visions Medal.

Gold Key-awarded entries are “automatically considered for national awards, including Gold Medal, Silver Medal, and scholarship awards.” National Medalists are announced in the spring and honored at a ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Medalists are eligible for scholarships of up to $12,500.

Treadway, Heaphy, and Silver Key Award Winners Addison Clark ‘25 and Ashley Friedman ‘27 will be honored at the Scholastic Art Awards 2024 Award Ceremony at the Nevada Museum of Art on Feb. 15, 2024. In addition to the Gold Key-winning and American Visions-nominated piece “Beautiful Inside Out,” which Treadway will speak about at the ceremony, Treadway received a Silver Key for digital art piece “Wish Me Well.”
