John Dewald (‘13)

John Dewald is a Fulbright scholar teaching English in UFOP, a university in Ouro Preto, Brazil. His grant lasts from February to November 2019, and he is hoping to renew for a second year to continue to work for the Department of State. Since graduating Claremont McKenna with a BA in Literature in the May of 2017, John has worked for NGO's in Nicaragua and Bolivia, service/cultural immersion organizations in Belize and Bali, and in scuba diving in the Caribbean. During his travels, he has learned to speak Spanish and Portuguese. John is also working on publishing his first book and is currently writing a sequel. He aspires to be a novelist.
