Each spring, the prestigious Harvard Prize Book Award is presented to an exceptional junior who exemplifies excellence in scholarship, leadership, and character. Sage Ridge School is proud to recognize Beatrice Liwanag ’26 as this year’s recipient.
The selection process for the Harvard Prize Book Award at Sage Ridge is rigorous and reflective of the honor’s national prestige. This year, a committee of seven faculty and staff members reviewed applications from five highly qualified juniors. Each applicant met the award’s high standards: a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.75, at least five honors or AP classes, impressive extracurricular or work experience, and a demonstrated commitment to high moral character.
Beatrice has been a part of the Sage Ridge community since 4th grade, joining the school in 2017. Over the past nine years, she has consistently impressed her teachers with her intellectual curiosity, discipline, and kindness. Her journey at Sage Ridge reflects a deep dedication to learning and personal growth—qualities that mirror the values upheld by Harvard University.
In addition to her academic excellence and cumulative GPA above 4.4, Beatrice stands out for her active engagement beyond the classroom. Whether through leadership in student organizations as the 2025-2026 Student Government President, member of the National Honor Society and Honor Council, volunteer initiatives with local organizations like the Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada, or extracurricular pursuits as a three-season athlete and 2025 Varsity Track State Champion, she exemplifies the kind of well-rounded student who uplifts others and brings positive energy to every endeavor.
