Natalia Yang ‘29 and Ana Treadway ‘27 Place in Congressional Art Competition; Yang Published in Art Book
Sage Ridge School

Sage Ridge students Natalia Yang ‘29 and Ana Treadway ‘27 placed in the Congressional Art Competition. Yang earned second place in Nevada's 2nd congressional district with the piece “Desert of Nevada” and Treadway earned third with “For Purple Mountain Majesties Above the Fruited Plains.”

The competition is a nationwide high school visual art competition to “recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district…students enter by submitting their artwork to their representative’s office and panels of district artists select the winning entries.”

Artwork by Yang was also published in a book through Celebrating Art, an online competition where students get published, win prizes and teachers earn school supplies. Only the top 25% of entries are published and Yang’s "Dahlia" piece was featured in their most recent book.

Congratulations to our scholar-artists, Natalia and Ana! And thank you to our wonderful art teachers Mrs. Buccambuso and Ms. Ashton for encouraging our students to share their talents with the world!
