Sage Ridge Spirit

On the Friday evening at the beginning of Thanksgiving Break, I came to school at 7:30 pm to find a gym full of upper school students playing dodge ball. Organised by student government and supervised by teacher chaperones, we had teams dressed in everything from 80s neon to cowgirls outfits of denim overalls. This is not the norm on most campuses that become ghost towns as soon as break starts.

On the Saturday after Thanksgiving our boys varsity basketball scrimmaged with a crosstown school to hone their skills as they prep for the start of their season. On the Monday we returned, our varsity girls started their basketball practice at 6:15 am. Meanwhile, our Matilda cast started their tech week, committing time to perfecting their performance from after school to at least 7:30 pm every day this week. Our Middle School basketball teams journeyed to Incline Village on Tuesday where our our Grade 8 team soundly won their game by over 20 points. On Wednesday, our school community packed the Great Space for our traditional Staculty challenge to our Variety Girls volleyball - a tie after two games with cheers throughout.

Without a doubt we have school spirit. Our students work hard and play hard and I believe this is not just a cliche at our school. When we come together we are more vocal, and  more committed than schools twice, even four times our size. Our students are scholar athletes, scholar artists and active participants in all their commitments. Go Sage Ridge - this is the Sage Ridge Way!

PS - Please join us next Tuesday for our PA meeting (8:15 am in the Crossbow Loft) for a review of our latest Parent Survey results!

PPS - Thank you to all who participated in Giving Tuesday - it contributes to all we are able to offer for our students.
