Sage Ridge student Sam Browder '26 earns the President's Volunteer Service Award

AmeriCorps awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award to Sage Ridge School's Sam Browder '26 "in recognition of their commitment to strengthening our nation and communities through volunteer service."

Browder earned this prestigious honor by completing over 270 hours of community service in a year through volunteering with children at The Discovery Museum, a hands-on science and technology museum in Reno. For this achievement, Browder received a medal, a certificate, and a letter from President Biden. He works at The Discovery Museum during summer camps and on weekends.

"My service has allowed me the opportunity to work with and instruct kids in a really fun, creative setting, get to better know the Reno community, and build up my social skills,” Browder said. “Getting experience in a professional environment and having lots of fun along the way is an invaluable experience."

In 2023, Sage Ridge's Ethan Wu '24 earned the President's Volunteer Service Award for his work with the Trauma Intervention Program (TIP) of Northern Nevada.

Congratulations, Sam! You are a shining example of the Sage Ridge community pillar, not just at Sage Ridge but also within Reno-Tahoe. We are so proud of you, Scorpion!
