A huge congratulations to Sage Ridge Scorpions Amelia Litschke '29 and Sitara Reganti '25 on winning 2025 Scholastic Writing Awards in the West Region! Sitara earned two Honorable Mentions for her poems "Nothing Left" and "Ramona" and Amelia earned a Gold Key for her personal essay & memoir "Three Words, Eight Letters, One Lesson."
Amelia is the only Middle School student in Nevada to earn a 2025 Scholastic Writing Award Gold Key. The Gold Key is a prestigious recognition and a top honor. It allows Amelia to apply for a Scholastic Awards Summer Scholarship to further develop her skills and creativity.
Amelia's mother, Sara Kader, expressed gratitude to Sage Ridge English teacher Ms. Sara Gaunt for encouraging her daughter to take creative risks. She shared that Amelia’s writing continues to improve and that her willingness to share a deeply personal piece with an unknown audience reflects the confidence Ms. Gaunt has helped instill in her.
