Thanksgiving and Winter Break Plan Update

Thanksgiving and Winter Break Plan Update
Tobin Bechtel

After evaluating our return from Fall Break and further considering independent school practices across the nation, Sage Ridge will move to Distance Learning/Scorpion School for students in the Middle and Upper Schools from 30 November through 18 January. We will resume on-campus learning from 19 January. We ask that everyone plans accordingly so quarantining and/or getting COVID test results is possible and that we are all clear to resume on-campus learning.

This decision is based on our continuing commitment to our protocols to maintain a safe campus and continued school program as well as prioritizing the health and needs of our faculty and staff. This past week with the number of students and staff that have had to quarantine has proven very disruptive to classes and our ability to staff them.

Many of our families and faculty are either travelling to visit places that require quarantining before they can even meet with family and/or are having visitors from places where pandemic numbers are spiking. In order for everyone in our community to remain safe and travel/visit without breaking mandates in other states, this is our best course forward.

As with all protocols being implemented during the pandemic, this approach relies on trust. We need to be cognizant that all our health and safety relies on all of us doing our part both individually and collectively.
