AIM Builder Spotlight: Montane Building Group

Sage Ridge is honored to be partnering with Montane Building Group for our AIM Phase I Student Activity Center build. Founded in 2012, Montane Building Group specializes in being a design-build structured company. Design-build brings the designers to the construction team, which creates a successful team environment. Design-build projects are streamlined, making them faster and more cost effective in comparison to design-bid-build projects. Owners Rob Smith and Paul Slocum have a “whatever it takes” attitude and, combined with their proficiency in CAD design, they are able to easily and effectively assist their clients. Montane draws up preliminary space plans or site layouts and provides in-depth cost estimates for gratis in a timely manner. Saving time and money is crucial to the design-build process which Montane has focused on since it was founded.

Rob Smith 

Rob Smith - Montane

Rob has more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry and is a LEED  Accredited Professional. He has experience as a Field Engineer, Superintendent, Estimator, and Project Manager. Rob uses the latest technology by utilizing different programs such as Foundation Project Management, Raken, Plan-Grid, AutoCad, and imaging with comprehensive documentation. This allows an expedited complex review process and the ability to deliver our clients the best possible results for their needs. Rob is certified in Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings with Butler.

Rob has managed the construction of many different types of projects. From gas stations to restaurants to Class A office tenant improvements to industrial projects, he has been responsible for meeting and exceeding client expectations.


Paul Slocum 

Paul Slocum - Montane

Paul has worked in the construction industry for over 30 years as a Development Manager for DP Partners in the Reno, Las Vegas, and California markets. He has overseen 15,000,000 square feet of shell and core construction, along with thousands of square feet of tenant improvement projects. After spending many years designing, Paul decided to get involved in other aspects of the industry such as design-build structure.

As Project Manager, Paul is responsible for supervising all aspects of construction from initial estimation to project completion. Paul also handles construction coordination, due diligence work, coordination with local utility companies, and plan review.
