Happy New Year, Scorpion Sports Fans!
Winter athletics will be in full effect when we return from the holiday break! MS Girls Volleyball games, US Boys and Girls Basketball games, and US Ski Team races will flood the SRS calendar throughout the Winter months! Congratulations to Nate Mulvaney (11th grade) for being named the 2019 Mammoth Winter Basketball Classic Tournament MVP! Nate is the first Scorpion basketball player to be recognized and awarded MVP for tournament participation! Please join me in wishing the US Boys Basketball team the best of luck at the Del Norte New Year's Tip-Off Tournament in San Diego this weekend.
Shout-out to our Sage Ridge student/alumni soccer team for finishing 2nd overall at a recent Holiday Break indoor soccer tournament here in Reno! Well done, Coach Klaus and Coach Marian!
Speaking of Sage Ridge Student/Alumni! Our US Boys Basketball team took on members of our Sage Ridge Alumni and former Scorpion Ballers! Needless to say, it was a GOOOOOD TIME!! Our alumni have NOT lost their basketball skills! The game took place this past Saturday at the Neil Road Rec Center, site of all HOME Sage Ridge Boys and Girls Varsity Basketball games! And, at the final buzzer...the alumni team prevailed!! Must be all that growth and wisdom they have acquired at their respective institutions of higher learning!
