Assistant Coach
Coach Robbie Ferrito was born and raised in Italy, moved to the UK & Ireland right after college and worked all his life in Finance, has a degree in Statistics & Economics and an MBA. Robbie moved to the US 10 years ago with his family, lived in Pasadena, CA until June 2019 when they moved to Reno. His son, Rhys, joined Sage Ridge then as a 4th grader.
Robbie is an avid runner and competitor and participated successfully in more than 160 races in the last 10 years since moving to the US. In the last couple of years, he has focused on Rhys, and coached him to excel all the way to the highest level (at the most recent XC Nationals, December 2019, Rhys was ranked top 60 in the United States for his age-group).
Robbie has truly enjoyed this coaching experience and can’t wait to build on it at Sage Ridge.
He is also in the process of obtaining his coaching certification from USATF, both for Cross-Country and Track & Field.
His coaching philosophy is “Create the best possible conditions for success, then let go of the outcome” coach Phil Jackson, Chicago Bulls.
The idea is that, once you’ve prepared mentally and physically for your game, then you are ready to do your best—and your best is the best you can do. At the end of the day, you find success in learning and improving, not just winning.

Assistant Coach
Mr. Eric Thomas Eads was born in Buffalo, New York, yet somehow became a Dallas Cowboys fan. He attended Harvard College, graduating with a degree in History and managed to play football, rugby, DJ at the radio station and become a Class Marshall. His first job after graduation was at The Landon School for Boys in Bethesda, Maryland. There he taught boys from Grade 7 to senior year while coaching football, wrestling and track. The siren song of technology called Mr. Eads away from teaching and to Sun Microsystems, where he stayed for four years before becoming a sales engineer for a small firm. During this time, Mr. Eads met and married his wife Chrystn and had three daughters, Carter, McKinley and Monroe. In 2006, the family moved to Hawaii and The Punahou School, alama mater of President Obama. Over eleven years, Mr. Eads took up two new interests - BBQ and bagpiping. Mr. Eads came to Sage Ridge in 2017 where he teaches Upper School History, is the History Department Chair and is the Student Government advisor.
"Teaching has always been a part of me. My earliest job seemed to all be mentoring/coaching opportunities. The impact that a teacher can have on a student's, even a family's life is extraordinary. It's a phenomenal opportunity to help students be the best that they can be."
