Headwaters Science Institute 7th Grade On-Campus Ecology Program Spring 2026 at Sage Ridge School The Headwaters Science Institute’s on-campus program offers 7th grade students a unique, hands-on opportunity to become real scientists for a week. Through student-driven research, collaborative teamwork, and expert mentorship, participants will explore important ecological concepts and develop valuable skills that go beyond the traditional classroom experience.

Agenda:

• April 6 - Day 1: Develop research questions and investigation plans.


• April 7 and 8 - Days 2–3: Collect data in the field.


• April 9 - Day 4: Analyze and interpret data.


• April 10 - Day 5: Present research findings to the community.

Note on Scheduling Due to the rotating nature of our class schedule, 7th grade science periods are not consistent from day to day. In order to ensure students receive the full benefit of this 5-day Ecology Research program, we may need to adjust the regular schedule during the program week. This could include swapping class periods with other subjects or making other temporary changes to ensure that science has a dedicated time block on each of the five program days. We appreciate everyone’s flexibility in making this unique and valuable experience possible for our students.
