Andrea Washington, Program Director of AWAKEN, a Northern Nevada–based organization dedicated to preventing human trafficking and supporting survivors, will speak to Upper School students on February 11th. In this session, Washington will provide an overview of what human trafficking really looks like today—locally and nationally—while dispelling common myths and explaining why young people can be especially vulnerable. Students will learn the warning signs to watch for, how trafficking often intersects with social media and mental health, and practical ways to help keep our community safe. This is an invaluable opportunity to deepen awareness, ask questions, and learn how we can work together to keep our community informed and safe.
