Reno-Tahoe Community Discovers Sage Ridge Difference
- Academics

Sage Ridge School welcomed families to campus on Nov. 15 2025 for an engaging glimpse into life as a Scorpion. Visitors had the opportunity to meet faculty, explore classroom projects, and experience the warmth and connection that define the Sage Ridge School community. Displays from across all divisions—the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools—highlighted the creativity, rigor, and hands-on learning that shape our academic program.
The event opened with a warm welcome from Admissions Director Stephany Apollon, followed by remarks from Dr. Ginger Hovenic, head of school. Dr. Hovenic shared how the school’s Five Pillars—Scholarship, Respect, Integrity, Courage, and Community—serve as the foundation for every student’s journey.
“In this community, students are truly known,” said Dr. Hovenic. “They are encouraged to explore boldly, think critically, and grow into confident young people who lead with character. That’s the difference our families feel when they walk onto campus.”

The Open House continued with a heartfelt parent testimony and a dynamic student panel. Families heard directly from students about what makes their learning experience meaningful.
“The student panel was insightful,” said one parent attendee. “We got to hear directly from the kids about what makes their classes inspiring, why they love their favorite teachers, and how extracurriculars like sports, theater, and outdoor education enhance their daily experiences.”
Student-led tours brought the campus to life as visitors explored classrooms, outdoor learning areas, science labs, arts spaces, and athletic facilities. The enthusiasm from prospective families was energizing, especially as Sage Ridge School looks ahead to the launch of Grades 1 and 2 for the 2026-2027 academic year, completing its evolution into a full Grade 1–12 program.
Sage Ridge is grateful to everyone who joined and helped make the Open House such a warm and uplifting event. Families who were unable to attend are encouraged to Discover the Sage Ridge Difference and schedule a personal tour to experience firsthand what makes the school such a special place to learn and grow.
