Sage Ridge School Expands to Serve Grades 1-12
Sage Ridge School

Sage Ridge School, Reno-Tahoe’s top independent school, is proud to announce its expansion to serve students beginning in Grade 1 starting Fall 2026. This marks an exciting milestone in the school’s mission to prepare curious, confident citizens with exceptional intellect and character.

Currently serving grades 3–12, Sage Ridge will now provide a continuous educational journey from Grade 1 through Grade 12. The expansion reflects the school’s commitment to meet the needs of families who value the benefits of individualized pathways and the region’s lowest student-to-teacher ratios, and wish to begin their child’s academic journey earlier within a nurturing and challenging environment.

“Parents are seeking a school that nurtures the whole child from an earlier age, with strong academics alongside well-rounded character development and co-curricular opportunities in art, music, language, and theatre taught by experts in their fields,” said Dr. Ginger Hovenic, Head of Sage Ridge School. “We are pleased to meet this demand by expanding to Grades 1 and 2, offering families a seamless educational pathway within the Sage Ridge community.”

The school’s three divisions—Lower, Middle, and Upper—offer distinct but connected experiences. From building foundations in the Lower School to fostering independence in the Middle School, and forging futures in the Upper School, Sage Ridge is Northern Nevada’s only school that creates a true community of learners across ages 6–18, with opportunities for mentoring and support between younger and older students.

The enriched Lower School program combines Sage Ridge’s rigorous academics with joyful exploration and a strong foundation in character development. Students will benefit from individualized learning, dedicated faculty, and access to the same unique opportunities that distinguish Sage Ridge, including:

  • Hands-on learning experiences across science, art, and humanities
  • Emphasis on social-emotional growth and leadership skills
  • Outdoor education programs that connect classroom learning with the natural world
  • Early exposure to world languages and technology integration

Families interested in applying are encouraged to attend the Fall Open House on Saturday, November 15 at 10:00 a.m. RSVP to the Open House or sign up for a tour today

With this expansion, Sage Ridge continues its role as a leader in independent education in Northern Nevada, shaping future leaders who are prepared to excel in college and beyond.
