Sage Ridge Varsity Athletics Shine in Fall Season: Academic Excellence Meets Athletic Achievement

As the fall sports season comes to a close and winter athletics begin, Sage Ridge School celebrates an exceptional period of both academic and athletic accomplishments across multiple varsity programs.
Academic All-State Honors Lead the Way
The fall season kicked off with outstanding recognition in the Academic All-State awards, showcasing our student-athletes' commitment to excellence both in the classroom and on their respective fields and courts.
Varsity Volleyball set the standard by capturing 1st place in the 1A Division with an impressive unweighted team GPA of 3.97. Boys Varsity Soccer also claimed 1st place in the 2A Division with a stellar 3.70 unweighted team GPA. Girls Varsity Golf rounded out the academic honors by placing 3rd in the 2A Division with a 3.82 unweighted team GPA, demonstrating the depth of academic talent across our athletic programs.
Varsity Boys Soccer: A Season of Team Success and Individual Recognition
The Varsity Boys Soccer program enjoyed a tremendous season, highlighted by significant individual achievements. Simon Herrera (‘29) and Taylor Sullins (‘26) earned 1st Team All-League honors for their exceptional play throughout the season.
Their leadership and skill on the field were complemented by strong performances from Bodhi DeLellis (‘29) and Aiden Charles (‘26), both of whom received All-League Honorable Mention recognition.
Varsity Volleyball: Record-Breaking Performances
Varsity Volleyball had an outstanding season marked by both team success and individual excellence. Amelia Litschke (‘29) earned All-League 1st Team honors, while teammates Lauren Sherven (‘26) and Viola Charles (‘28) were recognized with All-League Honorable Mention selections.
The highlight of the volleyball season came from freshman standout Amelia Litschke, who shattered school records across multiple categories. In her debut season, Litschke (‘29) recorded an astounding 287 digs, 261 serve receive passes, and 60 aces. Her remarkable performance earned her the #1 ranking in the entire 1A West Division and #3 in the 1A Division across the state of Nevada.
Varsity Girls Golf: Historic Moments and State-Level Success
The Varsity Girls Golf team made waves this season with several memorable performances. Morgan Hayes (‘26) demonstrated consistent excellence by placing 2nd at the 2A West Regional Tournament with a personal record score of 82.
She carried that momentum into the State Championships, where she finished in an impressive 3rd place.
Adding to the season's historic moments, Jade Sharma (‘27) accomplished something truly special by scoring a hole-in-one at an in-season tournament. She is the first player in the league to achieve this feat during tournament play.
Varsity Cross Country: Personal Bests and State Qualifiers
Varsity Cross Country capped off a remarkable season with every athlete on the roster improving their personal times, which is a testament to the dedication and training of both the runners and coaching staff. The program's success culminated with Rhys Ferrito (‘28) and Tyler Jensen-Eykamp (‘26) both qualifying for the State Championships Race, where they represented Sage Ridge with pride and determination for the first time since 2022.
As we transition into the winter sports season, the fall varsity athletic programs have set a high standard of achievement. The combination of academic excellence, team success, and individual accomplishments reflects the values and spirit of Sage Ridge athletics. The varsity winter season has kicked into high gear, with pre-season matches already underway for our Varsity Girls and Boys Basketball programs.
