Middle School
After School Enrichment
Participating in a great diversity of extracurricular activities during Middle School helps students refine their interests and prepare to become more deeply involved as they advance into the Upper School, when deeper extracurricular pursuits can help students differentiate themselves in the college application process.
Athletics
Contact: Sierra Starbuck
Scorpions can participate in Sage Ridge Athletics every season, with grade 5 - 8 students having access to girls basketball and cross country in the fall, girls volleyball and boys basketball in the winter, and track and field in the spring. Additionally, no athletic ability is needed for Scorpions at all ages, along with their families, to participate in Sage Ridge Athletics as supporters. Families can stay tuned to the school calendar for game and competition dates and sign up to volunteer for concessions or ticket sales, all of which are great opportunities to be a part of Scorpion Athletics!

Junior Classical League (Latin Club)
Contact: Courtney Kiely
The National Junior Classical League (NJCL) is a national organization of middle and high school students who are enrolled in a full-year classics course. At Sage Ridge, this includes Latin and Greek for students in grades 7-12. With over 50,000 members and 1,200 chapters, the NJCL is one of the largest academic youth organizations in the world. Sage Ridge is a chapter of the larger Nevada JCL, along with only three other schools in Nevada. The purpose of the National Junior Classical League, and in extension, the Nevada Junior Classical League, is to encourage an interest in and an appreciation of the language, literature, and culture of ancient Greece and Rome, and to impart an understanding of the debt of our own culture to that of Classical antiquity. JCL includes attending or hosting the State Convention. Sage Ridge School hosted the 2024 Convention.

Theatre
Contact: Anastasia Purvance
Sage Ridge School Theatre Productions annually produces three shows, offering performance and production opportunities for students across all grades.
-
The fall show is a play chosen from a variety of genres, ranging from historical non-fiction to farcical comedy. Material is advanced and challenging for grade 6-12 student performers, which makes each performance a showstopper! Along with intense direction, students may have the opportunity to design, construct, stage manage, design lighting, and operate sound depending on their role in the production.
- In the spring, the school produces a Broadway musical featuring students of all grades, abilities, and talents. Spring musicals are carefully selected based on content, songs, and students’ ability. From The Wizard of Oz and The Sound of Music to Mamma Mia! and Shrek the Musical, styles range from classical to contemporary. Reach out to Ms. Purvance for more information. Fall play and spring musical rehearsals are after school.
- This year's Spring show is Seussical. Performance dates: April 17, 18, 24, and 25. Tickets here.
