Why give to Sage Ridge School?
To support Sage Ridge School, the School needs tax-deductible contributions of approximately $2,000 annually for every student to cover existing programs.
Donations to the Annual Fund close the tuition gap and support the school’s operational success.
Sage Ridge also raises thousands each year for need-based aid with the Opportunity Fund, opening the school to students from diverse economic backgrounds.
Our Annual Gala proceeds cover the costs of expenses like new scientific equipment, community service projects, and expanded opportunities for athletics, theatre, and other extra-curricular programs.
Your contribution helps provide a world class education. We are ranked among the Washington Post’s America’s Most Challenging High Schools. More than 60 percent of faculty hold a master’s degree, and nearly 20 percent hold a doctorate. And our graduates matriculate to Berkeley, Duke, Emory, Middlebury, NYU, Penn, Princeton, Stanford, UCLA, USC, and Vanderbilt.
The academics, athletics and extracurricular opportunities prepare students for the challenges of college. Students at all levels work with teachers dedicated to their success. Each year starts with outdoor education, a weeklong trip to develop class camaraderie and student initiative. Back at school, classes teach them process and substance. Teachers focus on building student skills on how to think, how to apply themselves, and how to succeed. At the same time, students are challenged to ask why, to understand how, to explain their answers. The senior year concludes with a thesis and an internship exploring the academic and practical of their intended studies.
Athletics and extracurricular activities build on those challenges. The school is home to state champions in track, cross country, and skiing. Other students compete competitively outside of school in gymnastics, swimming, and skeet. Just as important are the opportunities for beginners to play in school sports including volleyball, soccer, and basketball. Programs like theatre and debate also are open to the accomplished and newcomers. Students have performed Shakespeare and written their own plays, with programs locally, regionally and internationally.
Why give? Sage Ridge is a unique educational opportunity that transforms every student who enters the School. Your support ensures the continuation and growth of our School for all Scorpions.
