After School Programs
Sage Ridge recognizes the need for meaningful and enriching activities after school.
Sage Ridge School is thrilled to offer two programs to our students after school: the Navigators Club and the Trailblazer Program. The programs are designed to support the academic mission of Sage Ridge, as well as enrich the lives of our Sage Ridge Scorpions. The after-school program has a schedule that allows students to complete homework, study for tests, catch up on missing work, and participate in an enrichment class.
Our shared philosophy is that students who engage in these programs are more likely to develop positive attitudes towards school, achieve full academic potential, and become productive citizens. Students are encouraged to maintain a balance between their instructional studies, after-school activities, and other outside interests. Throughout the course of this school year, your child will have an opportunity to get involved in an array of clubs, volunteer opportunities, and recreational activities.
A peer mentorship component is another part of our after-school program. At Sage Ridge, we want to foster the friendships and relationships our students have with one another, across grade levels. Peer mentors will be used for homework, studying, and helping students stay organized.
The after-school program runs from 3:15PM until 6:00PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 2:15PM until 6:00PM on Wednesday. Students will have structured times for snacks, breaks, homework, and enrichment. The schedule allows ample time for our students to work on academic responsibilities as well as have fun exploring an enrichment class.

Programs offered for 2023 Spring Semester
Yoga
This class helps our kids build skills they are expected to use yet are never taught. For example, children are supposed to know how to pay attention, when they’ve never been taught how to focus. They are expected to power down or power up their bodies and their minds when they’ve never been taught how to relax or build energy. They are expected to look inside and understand what matters most to them or how they’re feeling even though they’ve never been taught to connect to themselves to figure out what they most need in the moment. This class weaves the practice of mindfulness through all five elements to teach kids how to incorporate mindfulness into their daily lives. Mindfulness is the practice of being present to our experience through the lens of kindness and curiosity.
