Choreography will allow students to go behind the scenes and become teacher, dancer, visionary, creator, collaborator, and director. Classes focus on various elements that make up the craft of Choreography. Dancers will explore the use of Time, Shape, Energy, Space and Motion and apply it to their own dance creations. Each class will start with a technique class to warm-up the dancers and get their bodies moving. They will then move into their choreographer study and learn about the greats that advanced the discipline of dance. Every day will consist of a new prompt/study for them to use in their choreographed dance works.

In Pre-Algebra students will work with decimals, fractions, mixed numbers, integers, and negative numbers. Student will learn how to solve equations and inequalities algebraically and will gain valuable skills to solve more complex word problems. Students will work with the distributive property, probability, exponents, square roots, and measurement, area, and volume.

The Pre-APCS A course bridges the gap between a middle school JavaScript course and the college prep AP Computer Science A course.  To help students be prepared for the rigor of AP Computer Science A, this course consists of three primary goals: 

  1. Practice using programming languages such as Python and Java in small projects, which will allow them to gain practice with those languages’ fundamental constructs.

  2. Experience a gentle introduction to object oriented concepts, object oriented design and programming.

  3. Gain software engineering workflow skills using software engineering tools to design, implement, and debug software projects.

This course will cover both the content of the standardized tests as well as the strategies for taking them. Using a combination of demonstration, student work, and group work, the class will work through all aspects of the tests. Calculator work will also be covered so that students understand when they can and cannot use one, and how to best utilize them when they are able.  Students will also learn how to study for the tests so that they leave the course prepared for either SAT or ACT test.

Students will learn about the PSAT, SAT, and ACT exams and will understand the skills being tested in the reading and writing sections of these exams. Further, students will learn strategies for finding the correct answer to reading and writing multiple choice questions. Students will also learn how to write SAT and ACT essays. Lastly, students will devise a plan for studying for these exams

This course will include advanced topics in algebra and will increase the breadth and depth of understanding of the basic algebraic concepts. It will also build upon the basics of analytic geometry, while introducing sequences and series that are necessary for the student to ultimately progress on to trigonometry, calculus, and other advanced math classes. Topics include numerical, analytical and graphical analysis of linear, polynomial, rational, radical, exponential, and logarithmic functions. Applications of these functions to various disciplines are also included in the course.

Spend two weeks in a rapid theatre camp full of games, acting, and rehearsal! The students will be cast in a show that they will perform at the end of the two weeks. Each day will be filled with theatre games to build their skills in the performing arts, rehearsal for their live performance, and ensemble work to create a collaborative ensemble! The live performance will be performed on the stage in the outdoor amphitheater at Sage Ridge and will be a free event! Note: the performance will take place on the last day of the class at night so that parents can attend.
